4 juni Marokko-Algerije en Marouane niet naar Lazio

Marouane Chamakh is vandaag naar Marokko afgereisd om zich te melden voor het trainingskamp ter voorbereiding op de wedstrijd tegen Algerije op 4 juni a.s.
Marouane is gemotiveerd en wil graag de wedstrijd voor Marokko winnen.  Volgens www.Atlas-lions.nl hebben Gerets en Wenger elkaar gesproken en heeft Wenger Gerets geadviseerd om Marouane in de basis top te stellen in de wedstrijd tegen Algerije. Volgens Wenger is Chamakh de ideale spits voor de Marokkaanse nationale ploeg.

Marouane heeft overigens zelf laten weten dat hij zeker niet naar Marseille zal gaan. Als hij ooit gaat kiezen voor een Franse ploeg dan is het alleen voor zijn oude ploeg Girondins Bordeaux. Hij is niet van plan om volgend seizoen Arsenal te verlaten. Chamakh wil zich bewijzen bij Arsenal.

Marouane: ''Een overgang naar Lazio Roma zal ook niet gebeuren. Ten eerste kan Lazio Roma mijn salaris niet betalen (Chamakh verdient bij Arsenal op jaarbasis 3.4 miljoen euro, terwijl Lazio Roma maar 2 miljoen euro per jaar salaris kan betalen voor Chamakh) en ze kunnen ook niet mijn transfersom betalen. (Lazio Roma wil 9 miljoen euro betalen, terwijl Arsenal 17 miljoen euro vraagt voor Chamakh).

Thouars, in de buitenwijken van Bordeaux speelt Marouane Chamakh zijn laatste wedstrijd van dit seizoen. Niet bij Arsenal maar gistermiddag in een klein stadion. Zonder concurrentie, zonder competitie maar alleen voor de fans die toestroomden en een kaartje kochten om de wedstrijd te zien. De opbrengsten van deze wedstrijd ging naar 1001 smiles, een goed doel dat het onderwijs aan kansarme kinderen in Marokko steunt.

Naast verschillende voetballers van o.a. Arsenal, Bolton en Girondin Bordeaux was ook de broer van Marouane aanwezig. De gelijkenis was treffend maar als kinderen hem om een handtekening vragen weigert hij beleefd. De wedstrijd werd overigens 5-2.

23 mei benefiet wedstrijd Marouane Chamakh

Morgen, 23 mei organiseert Marouane Chamakh een benefietwedstrijd voor kansarme kinderen in Marokko in het Franse stadje Thoars, in het Municipal stadion. Hij heeft bekende voetballers zoals Adel Taarbat uitgenodigd en ook zijn Arsenal maatje Samir Nasri zal er bij zijn.
De wedstrijd start op 19.00 uur lokale tijd.
Entree: volwassenen 3 euro, kinderen onder de 18 1 euro.

Marouane Chamakh blijft bij Arsenal

Marouane Chamakh heeft in de engelse pers gezegd dat hij veel bewondering heeft voor Robin van Persie. Hij denkt nog veel van hem te kunnen leren en zijn plaats op de bank ziet hij niet als iets negatiefs. Robin kwam terug en kreeg zijn basisplaats weer. Met het vertrek van Bendtner deze zomer is het waarschijnlijk dat Marouane gewoon bij Arsenal blijft spelen. Of de club moet er voor kiezen om toch een paar miljoen voor hem op te strijken, ook al zou dat niet handig zijn met de vele blessures van Van Persie.
Marouane heeft in de laatste wedstrijden van Arsenal laten zien dat hij weer helemaal op zijn oude niveau zit, nu nog het hierarchische niveau aanpassen en hij gaat ook weer scoren als vanouds.

Marouane liet in de tweede helft zien waarom hij naar Arsenal is gehaald. Pas na zijn komst begon het team te voetballen en kreeg het de meeste kansen. Dat de scheidsrechter (opnieuw) niet op de hand van Arsenal was werd duidelijk toen het tweede afgekeurde doelpunt van Marouane een gewone treffer was en dus zeker goedgekeurd had moeten worden.
Arsenal verloor van Aston Villa met 1-2 en is nu niet eens meer zeker van CL als Manchester City de volgende wedstrijd wint.

Marouane kan niet geloven zijn doelpunt, onterecht, is afgekeurd.

In diverse kranten en landen wordt melding gedaan van het bod van 10 miljoen euro dat op Marouane Chamakh is gedaan. Belangstelling uit Italie Lazio en ook Olympique Marseille is in de markt voor de 27-jarige spits. Arsenal heeft de Marokkaan transfervrij overgenomen dus een bod van 10 miljoen is voor hen erg verleidelijk.

Marouane schijnt zelf ook interesse in een Italiaans avontuur te hebben......

Chamakh niet naar Saoedië

Vorige week meldde de Saoedische media dat Al Ahli interesse zou hebben in Marokkaans international Marouane Chamakh. Vandaag maakte de Saoedische media echter bekend dat het om Al Hilal gaat, de oude werkgever van bondscoach Eric Gerets.
De clubleiding van Al Hilal gaf vandaag echter aan dat een overstap van Chamakh naar Al Hilal momenteel niet aan de orde is en dat men in de toekomst ook geen bod zal gaan uitbrengen op Chamakh.

In het verleden maakte een Marokkaanse international wel de overstap van Europa naar Saoedi-Arabië. Jaouad Zairi vertrok in 2006 namelijk op huurbasis naar Al Ittihad, maar dat avontuur bleek niet erg succesvol te zijn.

"Ik koos het team van Marokko al vroeg, toen ik 19 was. Ik heb er 4 of 5 maanden over nagedacht en hoewel het een moeilijke beslissing was heb ik er geen spijt van. Marouane Chamakh has had an interesting interview with the French football website FOOT MERCATO, and I thought it worth translating it for the English Arsenal fans as he gives a little insight into his first season at the Emirates. Enjoy!
Foot Mercato: For the last few weeks there have been rumours that you may be joining Marseille, is there any truth in this?
Marouane Chamakh: This is nonsense. I’m Bordelais me! It’s food for thought. But no, I do not think so.
FM: There are also rumours that there are several other French clubs interested in signing you, not just Marseille. Would you be willing to return to France?
MC: I do not know. But frankly, no, I do not think so.
FM: You said when you arrived that you wanted to go to the end of your 4-year contract with the Gunners. Do you still think that?
MC: I always think that, of course.
FM: How are you physically right now?
MC: Well, really well. Now, there are still three weeks before the holiday. I’m a little disgusted, because I thought we could win something this season.
FM: Right, the dressing room is it not too downcast? Nobody already thinking about next season?
MC: No, we’re really focused for the end of the championship. We know that the title has moved away, but we want to ensure second place. Even if you know you’re missed something big, we’ll still play to the maximum and certainly not think about the end of the season.
FM: In France, there is considerable speculation about the choices of Wenger during the match, when he chooses Bendtner ahead of you. Does he explains his decisions?
MC: No, not at all. I think Bendtner played once or twice in place of Van Persie directly. Maybe it was early in the second half of the season. Me at that time I was in a state … I was really burnt out, I just couldn’t….. Otherwise, when Bendtner returned, he played on the right wing. And I, when I came back, I was playing in place of Van Persie, and it just stalled. I think right now I am the second Arsenal striker behind Van Persie.
FM: It seems that the worries for Arsenal this season was not particularly the attack, but the defending…..
MC: It’s incredible we did not win the title this season! But we cannot say that Manchester United has been stronger than us, that Chelsea were stronger than us. We shot ourselves in the foot. We lost too many points. You can not lead to 4-0 and will equalize 4-4. The last weekend we lost at the last minute after a kick off.
FM: So what is the problem? It is a matter of experience? Or concentration?
MC: I don’t know, the question has been discussed several times. I put it down to experience. We are all still young. It will be corrected next season.
FM: Do you have particular wishes in relation to the transfer window from Arsenal this summer?
MC: No, for me it is just to keep the best team possible. We all have room for improvement. I think the title is winnable with this team. Especially since we have the edge over other clubs because we are young.
FM: Are you happy with your season?
MC: Of course I’m happy. With all the expectations I had, I was really pleased. I wanted some good football, the atmosphere in the stadiums, the combativeness. I was a little apprehensive before coming. It’s incredible here. I like everything here. I really play my football with great pleasure, it’s brilliant!
FM: How did you integrate with the Arsenal players when you arrived?
MC: Great. I’m happy because it was my first transfer. I had only ever known Bordeaux before. I worried a bit when I first arrived. I saw how it was in Bordeaux: I welcomed the newcomers, trying to put them at ease. I did not know if it would be the same here. But it was great. If you look at Clichy, Nasri, Eboue and Sagna, they really are guys who wear their hearts on their sleeves, who think of
others. And as I played in France, it helped.

ARSENAL beats MAN U 1-0!!!

Arsenal rocked Manchester United at the Emirates, battling to a hard earned 1-0 win to allow Chelsea right back into the Premier League title race.
With Cesc Fabregas absent from proceedings after taking a knock in training, it was his deputee Aaron Ramsey who came to the fore, netting an accomplished winner for the Gunners after Robin Van Persie’s cut back.

In a game where Manchester United never really clicked into gear, Arsenal were the better team throughout and their winner early on in the second half was a just outcome for their prolonged superiority in the matchup.
Whereas the result doesn’t quite drag Arsenal back into the title race – with just three games remaining – Chelsea will be thanking Arsene Wenger’s men, after seeing their deficit to United reduced to just three points ahead of their monumental clash next weekend.
The win proved a shot in the arm for the underfire boss, with the assured performance proving contrary to the constant criticism he has faced over his team’s resilience.
Evidently feeling like they had a point to prove, Arsenal started the game in buoyant fashion.
Sustained pressure early on led to a collection of half chances for the hosts – the most glaring of which fell to Jack Wilshere after Nemanja Vidic fluffed his clearance, yet the England man could only drag his shot wide from the edge of the box.

United struggled to impose themselves as the game developed, with Arsenal enjoying more than their fair share of possession. A fluid move culminated in Theo Walcott drifting in from the right flank to meet a whipped Gael Clichy cross, though the lively winger couldn’t keep his effort down.
It then took a fantastic piece of back post defending by Patrice Evra, in stark contrast to the lacklustre start by the Premier League front runners, to further keep Arsenal at bay. Van Persie rolled the ball into the far post and with Walcott again cutting in from the right to great effect and seemingly primed to side-foot home, Patrice Evra intervened to poke the ball out for a corner.
It wasn’t until the 25^th minute that United really got out of first gear. A short burst of incisive play from the visitors saw Fabio burst beyond the Arsenal backline, but an effective cut back from the Brazilian, with Chicharito waiting in the six-yard box, never quite materialised.
