Arsène Wenger has “small doubts” over Marouane Chamakh and Denilson for the visit of Wigan on Saturday.

The Moroccan striker (knee) and Brazilian midfielder (hip) both picked up minor knocks at Leeds on Wednesday evening but are fully expected to recover by the weekend.

If they are fit then Wenger’s squad should be similar to the one employed at Elland Road. Abou Diaby (calf) and Sebastien Squillaci (hamstring) are still a week away. Lukasz Fabianski (shoulder) requires “patience”.

“We have some uncertainty about Chamakh and Denilson,” the manager told TV Online on Thursday afternoon. “Denilson has been hit on the hip and we will see how he responds tomorrow morning. Chamakh today looks good so overall I don’t think we have lost anybody last night. They are small doubts.

“Diaby and Squillaci are not far away but they will not be completely ready for the weekend. They will be one week I think.

“Fabianski is still out unfortunately with his shoulder. It still gives him pain and we have to be patient about that.”

Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles) and Manuel Almunia (ankle) complete the injury list.
